Do I need an Instagram account to use this?
No, you don't need to log in with your Instagram account. We never ask for your Instagram password. You simply enter the username of the public account you want to track.
Does this work on private accounts?
No. IGDetective only works on public Instagram profiles. We respect privacy settings and cannot access private accounts.
Will they know I'm tracking them?
No. You never connect or log in to Instagram with us, so nothing on Instagram links your searches to you, and tracked accounts are not notified.
Is this legal and safe?
We only show information that is publicly visible on Instagram. We can't see private messages or private accounts, and we never ask for anyone's password.
Can IGDetective read DMs or private messages?
No. We can't see DMs or anything else private. We only show public activity such as recent follows, likes and comments.
Is there a free version?
Yes. A free account covers 1 profile, anonymous Stories, a manual Story Archive and a free check of what works for any public account. Recent follows and followers, the daily automatic refresh, DeepSearch and up to 5 profiles need Premium. There is no free trial.
Does IGDetective track unfollows right now?
Not at the moment. Unfollow tracking is currently unavailable since Instagram's update on September 9, and we are investigating solutions to bring it back. Recent follows and recent followers are still tracked on the paid plan.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard in a few seconds. We may ask why and offer an alternative, but nothing stands between you and cancelling. Your access runs to the end of the period you already paid for.
